Our Anderston Silhouette first appeared in May of 2021 when the doors of our Concept Store re-opened after Covid lockdown number two! Available at first in a light Troficolour Chambray fabric which sold out very quickly, we followed in AW21 with our first garment dyed Cotton Twill Editions and ever since the Anderston has retained the title of our all-time best selling shirt.
The Anderston had to be hardwearing, versatile and not overly cumbersome. We wanted a trans-seasonal overshirt that would look at home with denims but also with a pair of shorts in the fairer weather. They team up great with Denim and Boots, our new Ashton Work Pants and Sneakers and even our Deck Shorts with sandals. Perfect.
We often say we’re not trying to re-invent the wheel at Finnieston, but we still do manage to bring about a unique product with our signature detailing, like branded tabs, contrast red internal twin needle stitching, famous overtime-ticket and individually branded ‘FCL’ buttons. With a mixture of subtle and more conspicuous branding as well as a unique hemline, you can identify an Anderston Over Shirt from a mile away, and its only when you see each and every detail you realise what great value these shirts really are.
Most of the team wear an Anderston Shirt at least twice a week in store. Buttoned up one day under a Yardley Jacket, or acting as a jacket in their own right over a Riveters Tee on warmer days – its success is in its versatility. This season we have introduced a bold Red garment dyed colourway (after being asked by all you denim heads!) and a Grey Stripe which has a slightly lighter handle. We also have best-selling Taupe and Light Charcoal Cotton Twills too.
